Trust God

This says it all:

 And I did!!

Things just kept happening...took me awhile to catch on that God was calling me to a different life and task

What I didn't know was that what Satan meant for evil God turned to GOOD!! He is truly amazing in what He can and Will Do!!He changed my life by 180 degrees. I used to be on the squirrel wheel, working for others, and having little time to live. HE opened the door for me to jump off the wheel and Live life. To enjoy HIM and live FOR HIM! To love my family and enjoy waking up everyday.

I also have several health issues which made it extremely hard to work. One of them was High Blood Pressure. While on medication it would read 143/98. Now, I never liked chickens, never thought I would have them, but they are such a joy to watch, my blood pressure without medication is now 111/78. Hallelujah! The cure for high blood pressure is get off the squirrel wheel and get a CHICKEN!!! Now I can make a mint off that simple cure...bet it works for other diseases too but currently can only quantify that one!! More about my chickens later.

We moved in to our Farm the beginning of June. I was blessed that my eldest sons flew down and helped us or we would have been in trouble. Thank You Thomas and Andy!! When we moved in the property was severely overgrown. Here it is after a quick mow of just a small patch in front of the house.

We were also blessed that there was a structure next to the house that was previously used for ?????
It is about 10 x 12 with a covered porch.A perfect Chicken Coop!!

So our first project was to get a coop ready for the 85 Americauna/Easter Egger chickens that were due in 2 weeks. Americauna chickens lay pastel colored eggs such as green, blue, and pink.

So we first tackled the coop itself as they would have to brooded for awhile

Next came construction of their run

And we were ready!!!

They arrived all healthy. We did lose one the next day but that was extent of the loss. Here they have been introduced to the food and water by dipping their beak into the water and then food.

And when they sleep..they almost look like they have passed away because they sprawl in the funniest positions like they just dropped from sheer exhaustion. I checked them frequently the first few nights and they continued to thrive and grow like weeds. Soon little personalities came out. The colors can hardly be described. Many were colored just like a chipmunk, there were several yellows, one black, and some gray and black babies. I had ordered 77 hens and 8 roosters but to this day I am not sure how many roosters I really have.
